How many problems in life and work could be solved if we had just asked a few key questions first? We’d say quite a few. The thing is, we make questions into something a little too complicated. We might not have the confidence to speak up. We may not want the receiver to feel untrusted, uncomfortable or undermined. Or, everyone’s favourite, we might feel stupid asking them!
That’s why we’ve launched The Jungle, our “all questions answered” trip into the alluring undergrowth of agency world. Our goal is to create a dense forest of simple and straightforward articles that answer the questions that clients are just dying to ask businesses like ours.
Why? Because transparency is key to good, long-lasting and successful agency/client relationships. We also appreciate that historically, agencies haven’t always been so clear on what they mean or the way things work.
The Jungle aims to clear the fog and improve agency/client relationships for the better. A better relationship often means better outcomes, whether that’s customer satisfaction, employee engagement, open rates, or however you’re measuring the success of your brand.
The specimens
“You’re brave for opening this can of worms.” Yes, we are. But someone had to do it. And to ensure we don’t get completely lost in the weeds, we’re looking at five key areas. Or “SPECIMINS!” (To be read in your very best David Bellamy voice.)
1. Pricky pricing
Yep, the money part. Misunderstandings can be expensive, so it’s crucial that agency clients understand pricing models, what they’re paying for and how it all works. We’ll cover the age-old question of “How much?”, and we’ll delve into pricing structures, hidden costs, amendments, invoicing and more.
2. Conversations under the canopy
Problems crop up. It’s inevitable. So, we’ll be looking at more sensitive topics like client satisfaction, dealing with feedback, trust and transparency, and any other common issues we’ve learned from client/agency relationships throughout our careers.
3. Botanical studies
Much of our work is creating something beautiful. But under the hood, there’s a little more to it. The technicalities, the disciplines, the platforms and the programmes. We’ll help you get your head around all of that, with “this vs that” guides, such as RGB (screen) vs CMYK (print) or WordPress vs Webflow vs React JS, and any other technical areas that we feel are beneficial to you.
4. Survival training
This is a “catch-all” category for all manner of questions, from timeframes and teamwork to AI, SEO, PPC, UGC and more. We’ll also help you understand things like agency requirements, like the things that enable us to understand you a little better. Or, how things like maintenance and retainers work.
5. The right tool for the job
Our clients want the best, and we want the best for them, too. So this area is all about helping you understand why a particular this is best for a particular that. The best paper stock for business cards. The best hosting for a sustainable site. The best colour combo for an accessible logo. It’s all here.
No questions are bad questions
And what if your question isn’t featured? Good question. Well, we’ve opened up an inbox for this sole purpose. If you have a question about working with an agency, or something related to design, brand identity, web, or any other digital, content or marketing services, then just ask.
We’ll ensure that your question makes it onto our list with a detailed answer and tangible tips and examples. By a human, too. No chatbot or AI responses here.
Let’s get quizzical
Hopefully, that whets your appetite and gives you an idea of what to expect from The Jungle. And we hope that as we build up this knowledge base of Q&As, you’ll find it a valuable resource in your digital marketing toolbox.
Remember, knowledge is power. So if we’re all a little better informed and know what to expect, we can channel that power into something truly amazing.
